New MADEGG: “Telephonekings” And “Spectacular”

Forget telephones – this sounds like fax machines getting drunk and invading a bounce house. Kyoto whizz-kid MADEGG’s latest upload brings up all the same words I’ve already spat onto this WordPress page before – imagine the word “space” repeated on loop, complete with semi-creepy vocal sample. What’s slightly different here is how buzzing MADEGG’s latest whirl sounds, almost as if he pressed random machine buttons and sewed them together with Ethernet cables. The seemingly all-over-the-place sounds get dropped into just the right order, though, resulting in another interesting listen that, chiefly, also gets your body flying to every corner of your apartment. Added a couple days after I originally wrote something up about “Telephonekings,” the aptly-titled “Spectacular” continues showing off dude’s Brainfeeder feel. This one especially feels indebted to Los Angeles, the sense of time feeling slightly off just like that album’s Dilla-learned bent. MADEGG isn’t just ahead of the curve, he’s getting prolific too.
