White Scooper

Presenting Good On The Dancefloor’s star player, mostly because this band comes close to fulfilling the collective’s name. White Scooper join in the enjoyable trend of “bands making ’80s sounding music but not in a cheap nostalgic way” (led by Cut Copy, and featuring acts like Awesome New Republic and Delorean), pumping out new wave dance tracks I imagine sound very (brace yourself) good on the dancefloor. Just listen to the infectious synths and drums on “Up Bends” (on MySpace), the band’s best number. “Jr.” doesn’t reach the same pleasure peaks as “Up Bends” but does boast a creepy strut that leads into an unsettling dancepunk groove.
