Inspired by a recent stay in New Zealand, Osaka’s The Neon City created the sparse and glowing “Another World.” It’s a song not in any particular hurry to get anywhere, for the first half content to just splay out in the sun, vocals barely audible and sparse keyboard notes up front. Drums eventually enter, and The Neon City’s voice grows stronger alongside a wash of synths, but it would be off to say the song bursts open. Rather, “Another World” lets the intensity of what’s around her overtake, making for a warm and peaceful song. Listen above.
