Never Idol: Happy Kuru Kuru’s “Perfect Trip”
Rare is the album art featuring a reference to a prominent vaporwave album, but here we are.
Happy Kuru Kuru are an idol unit comprised of two members, Nonoka Nagase and Kinoko Mori, and who dabble in a sound and visual image just right for your discerning idol listener (read: jerkass blogger). They are a post-Maltine outfit who favor Internet imagery and who have recruited a recent idol pop ringer, Yunomi, to put together the energetic “Perfect Trip.” It’s a fizzy number touching lightly on Indian sounds, but which bursts open into a colorful, roaring number come the hook.
