In which the mellow vibe that always flows through Boys Age music hides something a bit more dour. “When The Last Wind Blows” is a song about the end of the world, which would normally sound rather hyperbolic, except we are living in pretty dour times so at least the Saitama duo make the end sound pretty chill. Again, the actual music leans closer to stoner-ish guitar-pop than anything else, too zonked-out even for, like, Mac DeMarco, but what gives it an edge are lyrics that embrace apocalypse (sample: “This is a wind of horrible death so much”) but also find some peace in it. Listen above.
