New Cold Name: “Neuron”
Busy month ahead for Nobuyuki Sakuma…his group, Jesse Ruins, will release their new album later in November, though before that his industrial-leaning solo project Cold Name has a new cassette out via Solitude Solutions on November 11. Here’s a peak at, with “Neuron,” a crushing, stuttering number. If Jesse Ruins has always been about making somewhat unsettling music from a foundation Sakuma’s fondness of dance music, with a lining of dreamy hope – still best summed up by “Dream Analysis” – then Cold Name approaches the floor from a different, more outright aggressive angle – “Neuron” is an upfront, scream-filled dance number that earns its “industrial techno” tag in spades.
