New Puffy Shoes: “Lazy Seventeen”

Talk about good timing – around the same day Pitchfork posts an article about the rise of the cassette tape, one of Japan’s young acts making heavy use of said platform post a new song onto their MySpace. Puffy Shoes’, whose debut cassette was distributed by Scotch Tapes, “Lazy Seventeen” highlights the duo’s garage-fuzz sound, a sort of rougher Vivian Girls. Like many of their older material, they manage to squeeze a tiny bit of twee into all of this via some sweet harmonizing. Check it here so you can say you heard it long before it gets released on a 100-copy-only cassette later this year.
