This sounds like how a six-year-old kid imagines Christmas morning to be. It whizzes around, hopped up on innocent wonder and the marshmallow bits from Lucky Charms. It would be even better if the kid in question was a young Cornelius or Shugo Tokumaru. Yet they aren’t the ones responsible for this sugar high – that would be Tokyo’s Polyphonic Parachute, who come off like an electric-leaning Shugo. There are a lot of details to take in when listening to “Smile,” layer upon layer of rainbow-bright squiggles rushing by…but it might be better to ignore the finer points and just let the whole whizzbang track dart through your head.
