“AAPS Is Over”: AAPS Calls It Quits

Tokyo group AAPS have decided to call it a day. The announcement came late last night via Twitter, in the form of a blunt Tweet reading “AAPS is OVER.” The band, who called young label CUZ ME PAIN home, released a handful of singles and appeared on various compilations.

For me, AAPS was the first CUZ ME PAIN act I stumbled across, back when the group was mainly associated with the Good On The Dancefloor crew. Here’s the first post about APPS featured on this blog, from November 2009. AAPS greatest strength was versatility…of all the Good On The Dancefloor and CUZ ME PAIN artists, they seemed to branch off into the most sonic directions. They dabbled in noise, tropical bliss and even dubstep. AAPS were one of the more daring bands of the last couple years and played a significant role in helping foster the bedroom community gaining traction in Japan today. Enjoy a few tracks from AAPS below.
