New CRUNCH: Futoshita Nichijyo No Koto

The 2014 album race is already underway (Metome already sprinting out), and in January Nagoya’s CRUNCH will enter the race with Futoshita Nichijyo No Koto. Now, though, they’ve decided to share the whole album on BandCamp, and you can here it now. This full-length highlights the group’s vocals, in particular their ability for the members to interlock voices. The highlight is “UTAKATA,” wherein the singing especially shines.     現在大阪で多くの素晴らしい音が誕生しています。今年の夏にも、現在の関西の音を象徴するといっても過言ではない、２つのコンピレーション・アルバムがリリースされました。最新のは”Yellow Print (Side-A)”で、”puredogma”からリリースされています。このアルバムを既に紹介しているブログ、Simon Saysによると、”puredogma”は、Solei Soleiいわく、”レーベルとかでは無くてこれを通してクリエイティブな事をやろう”というアイディアだそうです。Solei Soleiの”Olympic” は、ロンドンというよりはイビザのような雰囲気で、Outdoorminer(Cloudy Buseyの別プロジェクト)の “Love Has Them”は、現代版９０年代アシッド・ハウスのようです。Okaryu、watervehicleとchiccamagicaも参加していて、魅力的なトラックで溢れています。ダウンロードはこちらから。視聴は以下から。 Yellow Print (Side-A) by V.A. 大阪のDay Tripperも、アメリカのレーベルAstro Nauticoとタッグして、”7 By 7″をリリースしました。このプロジェクトではAstro Nautico所属のメンバー７人が黒澤明の七人の侍をサンプリングし、日本人のメンバー７人も同様に、ジョン・スタージェスの荒野の七人をサンプリングしています。お互いのカルチャーを分かち合うという意味で面白いコンセプトだな、と思ったのですが…それだけではありませんでした。楽曲の出来映えも素晴らしく、映画の台詞もふんだんに聴こえてきます…もちろん二カ国から。ダウンロードはこちらから。視聴は以下から。 7 by 7 – Astro Nautico x Day Tripper by Astro Nautico

  • Glossy Getaway: OKLobby

    東京のプロデューサーOKLobbyの作品にはよく、”リゾート”っていうキーワードがでてきますね。かれのデビューEPのタイトルも”Resortworks“でしたし、収録曲からは”Mind Resort Scidaria”というタイトルも見受けられます。バンド名に含まれる”Lobby”という単語は、2012頃から存在したシティ・ポップやvaporwaveを連想させますが、どうやら違う模様。むしろ、同じ東京のプロデューサーTaquwamiがここ最近手がけている音に近く、Resortworksの三曲からは猛烈な打ち込みドラムと切り刻まれたボーカルのサンプルが聴こえます。TaquwamiのBlurrywonderは、不鮮明でもやもやしたサウンドが渦巻き、それが作品の魅力なのですが、OKLobbyはというと、もっと鮮明で、クリアなサウンドが印象的です。”Mind Resort Scidaria”なんかでは子供達の声や、アラビア風の歌唱みたいなものが、シンセサイザーの土台の上で歌っています。”Fireworks”ではエフェクトがかけられたボーカルがフィーチャーされているものの、複雑になっていく曲の後半までは、とても鮮麗されています。 Resortworks E.P. by OKLobby 上で紹介した曲以外にも”Life Is A Short Life” という曲があって、これはまだ数少ないリリースの中でも最高にチルド・アウトしています。視聴は以下から。
