New Sayoko-Daisy: “Nomal Position”

Here’s a slippery new techno-pop tune from Mie Prefecture’s Sayoko-Daisy. “Nomal Position” is an unpredictable strut of a song – her vocals are delivered mostly in near sing-speak, except when she swings into a digi-manipulated passage mid song. The music itself is just as tricky – there’s a backbone groove, but electronics burble in the back and synths wash over the whole thing. And that goes down well before what sounds like a flute solo and…an accordion solo? Yet that’s what makes it stand out, Sayoko-Daisy refuses to create a sturdy electro-pop number, instead going on whatever whim crosses her mind. Listen below.

  • New Post Modern Team: Nite Life Lounge EP

関西のPost Modern Teamによる初のリリース曲は“Never Let You Down”でした。 彼らは“never let you down”と恋人に囁くように歌います。 まさに“Heartbreak”や“She Does Something To Me”といった言葉が語るように。 “thinking about those high school days”や”before you fade away”といった文脈からは良い思い出を振り返っているのだなと感じさせられます。 NITE LIFE LOUNGE.
