NITES either really really likes “It’s Twinkle” or he thinks it could use some reworking…spoiler alert, I’m pretty sure it’s option one. Dude went and made two remixes of Hotel Mexico’s breakthrough track and posted them at his MySpace. Version one morphs the song into a wide-eyed piece of bedroom pop, NITES strong suite. Version two recasts “Twinkle” as menacing lo-fi industrial rock, the drums getting the prime emphasis during its three-minute run time.
If it sounds like NITES has become a little too infatuated with Hotel Mexico’s debut album, take heart because he’s also posted a new original song, “White Sign.” It’s a gooder, go and listen for yourself.
