Plenty of Japanese artists have found ways to help the earthquake/tsunami relief efforts, ranging from Lullatone making all proceeds from digital album sales go to the Red Cross to AKB48 just donating a bunch of money. Now precarious bedroom-artist Shugo Tokumaru has gotten in on the giving. He’s teamed up with TONOFON and made a previously unreleased track written for a Tokyo-area play available for download. For 100 yen…less than a bottle of Coke Zero!…you can have the track “Open A Bottle” and feel secure knowing your money will benefit those in need. Not to mention the song itself is a great little instrumental sprint, reminiscent of his early recordings before he started inching closer to something possible to label “poppy” with his last two LPs. Go here to get it.
