Well this sounds a lil’ different than what you’d expect Boris to sound like. As the band preps two new albums for release this year, they’ve given the world a tease of one of those LPs – Attention Please – courtesy of “Hope.” This song and the album features a new wrinkle in the Boris style – it’s the first time guitarist Wata has handled lead singing. No idea how the full-length will sound, but “Hope,” dare I say, comes off as…dreamy? The trio make sure to include trademark “metal” guitar thrashing, yet the inclusion of strings (!) and, yeah, those vocals make this the closest Boris have ever come to shoegaze.
