Jesse Ruins called it a day earlier this year, but Nobuyuki Sakuma carries on with the harsher CVN project, which will release a new album called Frost on August 24. “Trash Eye (Second Cry)” is the first taste of it, and it is a harsh one, full of babies crying and shouting, sliced up and mixed into a steely set of beats and synthesizers. If Jesse Ruins was a dream with an uneasy edge, CVN approaches pure nightmare territory. But like DJWWWW and, to some degree, Foodman, the clashing sounds make for an absorbing listen. Listen above.
