OK, this time I checked around – I think this is a Puffyshoes’ original. It isn’t the Michelle Branch song (though that could be interesting), it isn’t ’80s group Scandal’s take. Ain’t the Ed Sheeran version which sucks so bad I won’t even link to it. So…here’s a totally fresh song from Puffyshoes, who do what they do oh so well. Listen above.
Moscow Clubは本当に素晴らしい。最初に我々が注目した”Daisy Miller Pt. 1″ は、ヘンリー・ジェームスの物語からの引用で、作品同様の感情的な雰囲気を醸し出しています。今回SoundCloudにアップされた曲は、”火星年代記”や、”華氏451″等を執筆したSF作家、レイ・ブラッドベリ（レイ、 数々の素晴らしい作品をありがとう。安らかに眠れ。）へのトリビュート精神が。Moscow Clubの新曲は”華氏451″の英語タイトル、”Fahrenheit 451″で、”Daisy Miller”の曲のように文学的に攻めるのではなく、あくまでレイドバック。悲しい過去の物語を語るのではなく、ちゃんとダンスフロアにそぐうように作曲されています。シンセが良い味を出しているこの曲はMoscow Clubの今までの曲よりも打ち込みがメインになっていて、この３分程の遊び心溢れる作品は、Toro Y MoiやKissesを連想させます。コーラスが実に美しい。試聴は以下から。

Bandcampから無料でダウンロードできるCassettevision Samplerは、決して音楽ブログから注目を浴びるべく作られた、レーベルのデビュー作品ではありません。レーベルは２０００年からあり、「不思議な魅力や毒、ひっかかるなにかしらがある音楽を紹介。」というコンセプトで、２００３年以降、数々のアルバムをリリースしています。このサンプラーはCassettevisionの歴史のような物で、過去にリリースした１３曲が収録されています。 Cassettevision Samplerの大半はミニマルなエレクトロニカで、冷ややかな実験性はありつつも、暖かくポップな印象が強いです。２つの作品を同レーベルからリリースしているLemの、”Story Of Surf For Young People”で聴けるボサノバ調のサウンドからは、とても温もりが感じられます。他のトラックはというと、engの作品は、跳ねるようなチャイムのような音やノイズ等、一見形のないように思えるサウンドを、ポップソングとして見事に再構築しています。Kiwako Kanedaの曲は、インディーポップやフォークにエレクトロニカが足されたような作品。Hot Fudge Sundaeの”New Walk”はストレートにポップ、Apartmenの”Hand Me Down”は直球ガレージロックなのですが、ちょっとしたクセや工夫が足されていて、レーベルのカラーを象徴しています。Cassettevision Samplerはミニマルなエレクトロニカが多く、レーベルのイメージを知るにはもってこいの作品と言えるでしょう。 cassettevision sampler by cassettevision
