At least half of this song’s title is dead on – Tokyo producer Eccy’s “Rainbow Eyes” erupts with color, a tweaked-out dance track with a Starburst Tropical candy pack’s worth of visual stimulation. Like the titular natural phenomenon, trying to describe this tune seems kinda pointless. Eccy lays everything out right in front of you – bright sounds that manage to get EVEN BRIGHTER as “Rainbow Eyes” progresses, marred only by the needless but ultimately tolerable vocal marks etched above the pretty colors (“yo yo yo, ugh ugh ugh” aren’t exactly the life-affirming words of Double Rainbow Guy).
