Sweatson Klank Came To Japan, Let Talented Producers Like Ryuei Kotoge, sauce81 And More Remix His Music

Young Osaka imprint/party Perfect Touch…featuring heavy involvement from various INNIT originators, primarily Erik Luebs otherwise known as Magical Mistakes…just wrapped up a tour behind Sweatson Klank, an electronic music maker out of Los Angeles. I wasn’t able to hit up the Tokyo leg of the tour because I had to go watch Rock In Japan for another website (though, real talk, I WOULD have wanted to go to the Mie leg, which took place at the same nightclub I and a bunch of Mie residents once had a going-away party at), which is a shame because all the artists coming under the Perfect Touch name are worth your time if you are interested in electronic music. We might be a little late on the tour, but Perfect Touch released a special album featuring some new Sweatson Klank songs…and remixes of said numbers by some Japanese artists.

Perfect Touch have put together a nice preview of this album, check it out below. There are also full streams of four songs – including the Sweatson Klank origianls – here. Let’s focus on the Japanese artists because…well, that’s what I do. Osaka’s Ryuei Kotoge takes the already thumping number “Take My Time,” and amps it up even further, taking it and adding jungle beats and making the whole thing sound woozier than before. sauce81 goes for something a touch trippier on his remix of “I’m Sayin’, Wake Up,” while Fujimoto Tetsuro is a bit more deconstructive with his take on the same song. Tokyo’s RLP, meanwhile, jacks “Take My Time” into something approaching TNGHT territory, not quite as brazen but still something brimming with bravado. It’s a great showcase of a bunch of talented artists (the Sweatson Klank originals are great too), and a great foot forward for Perfect Touch. Buy it here.

  • Rollin’ On: Dubb Parade’s Cold Tone

Producer Dubb Parade was, just one month ago, a lot sunnier. He billed his Your Emotion collection as “chillwave” and, even if it wasn’t totally locked to that Internet-genre, it carried a hazy, disco-influenced vibe that sounded more suitable for a blissed-out (remember that one?) summer spent indoors. Whether intentionally pushing himself to release music…

  • New House Of Tapes: “Noise Attack”
