I think this is the last really great thing that came out during the weird “Christmas break” period, so we can soon move firmly into the present. Seiho named Le Makeup an artist to watch recently, and Esthe certainly highlights why they are worthy of that mark. The producer draws from Latin and Caribbean sounds (see also: Bala Club), and casts them in a shadowy way. It hits on a familiar but still important trope — of an artist absorbing sounds emerging elsewhere and offering a new perspective on it. Get it here, or listen below.
