i-fls Remixes spazzkid: “Getting To Know You”
Sweet, another opportunity to tell you to go get your hands on spazzkid’s Desire, which might very well be my favorite non-Japanese album of 2013 so far. OK, got that out of the way…one of Tokyo’s most intriguing home-based producers i-fls has gone and made an unofficial remix of spazzkid’s “Getting To Know You,” transporting the vocals and keyboard line from the original into one of the prolific artist’s nostalgic, fuzzy works. It’s a long running track for i-fls, but he flips the mood from jubilant to wistful so easily that it works, the sense of longing only growing stronger as the remix unfolds. And, like the bulk of i-fls’ music, the ending doesn’t offer any resolution or finality…it simple ends, the feelings floating on until you click back to the start. Listen below.
