New And Vice Versa: “Close To You”

Here’s the latest from Osaka’s And Vice Versa, the lightheaded-bounce “Close To You.” Like fellow Day Tripper Records artist/INNIT pal Seiho, And Vice Versa takes a shining to sliced-up-and-otherwise-altered vocals for “Close To You,” most of the track’s five minutes stuffed with some variety of electronically grazed voice. Yet “Close To You” isn’t just a fun house of manipulated singing. It’s also a blurry bit of dance music, both locked into a steady beat aimed at a party but also engaging in the sort of flourishes found in a Seiho or Avec Avec song. Listen below.

  • Transitory Splendor: Submerse’s “Algorithms And Ghosts”

It is a soundtrack made for commuting between different places in large urban spaces, filled by swarms of people shoaling and funneling across intersections, subway stations and central hubs like corpuscles pulsating in the cities veins, conducted by invisible algorithms in the symbiotic superorganism that is a metropole.
