Our first brush with Ghostlight came via an album of remixes…so it’s nice to spend some time with an original work courtesy of the Tokyo project. “Wendy” is a “rain song” that actually came out in a slightly more skeletal version late last year on European label Seashell Records Pluviose comp, but in 2014 now gets buffed up a bit courtesy stronger vocals (now boasting a stronger female accompaniment) and overall better production. The clappy percussion smacks more clearly, while the electronic elements sparkle a bit brighter in this updated version. Yet, as it is on the aforementioned compilation, “Wendy” is a springy indie-pop track with a hint of melancholy. Listen below.
