New MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS Video: “ひきずるビート”

It’s tough to ignore a band named MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS, but I’ve somehow found a way to do so during my tenure in Japan. No excuses now: the newly three-piece have a video for their new single “ひきずるビート,” and the song is an absolute bulldozer. That extra member paid off, because this track pounds forward relentlessly, more so than anything else I’ve heard from the group before. What makes “ひきずるビート” stand out is lead singer Natsuko Miyamoto’s soaring singing. Most voices would be pummeled underneath the guitar-drum combo at work here, but she finds a way to spring above it and give the song a touch of sweetness. Don’t expect this band to be ignored around these parts anymore.
