New Fragile Flowers: “Owaru Sekai No Madogiwa De”

Fragile Flowers return with a new bit of rollicking, shimmering indie-pop. “Owaru Sekai No Madogiwa De” finds the pop unit crafting a heart-on-sleeve, feedback-overlaid-all number that dashes ahead. It’s one part indie-pop gallop, but the group adds a shimmering layer of electronics over top to give it a more fleeting feeling. Better still are the dual vocals, which find the male and female sides of the band mostly signing in unison…before it’s time to break apart and add some twists to the number come the chorus. • Carpainter Remixes Parkgolf’s “Sexual Attraction”

Every name wrapped up in this one is worth your time – producer Parkgolf’s debut album Par came out earlier this week, and it is a hell of a display of his wonky-in-the-best-way-possible approach to music. Carpainter went and remixed the song “Sexual Attraction,” and transformed it into a U.K. Garage bouncer, which you can…

  • Glowing Corners: Sakasa’s Coin Bender EP

Let your body dance, and let your brain dance more,” と説明されるこの三曲入りEPからは、名古屋のHouse Of Tapesとも共通点を感じます。

The words in questions…”indie” and “pop,” joined together by a hyphen. Though I love the jangly sound immensely – click the “twee as fuck” tag to see just how much – attempting to write about it can be a challenge because a lot of “twee” songs sounds alike. The Caraway’s “Bedroom Suburb” features all the…

  • New Young Juvenile Youth: “Her”

Young Juvenile Youth’s debut album mirror arrives today, and to celebrate the electronic duo shared a sparser cut from the album. “Her” moves away from the more delirious dance-pop of “Slapback” in favor of space. “Her” revolves around seasick electronics, a slowly mutating beat and some squiggly electronic touches lurking beneath it all. Yet the…
