Few can transform anime songs and assorted J-Pop numbers into club thumpers like The Sub Account, so we are always jazzed when they release a new EP. EP 04 features a nice blend of anime turn-ups…I can’t think of an outfit who could transform a Love Live! song into an EDM tornado, complete with LMFAO nods…alongside there sped-up takes on big J-Pop hits. They turn Hoshino Gen’s “Koi” into a tumbling drum ‘n’ bass number, and they even do something that would normally make me very hesitant — remix “Chocolate Disco” — and actually pull it off, turning it into a speedy club number that doesn’t lose the twinkling edge.
