Tokyo-based producer Rigly Chang last popped up on the split compilation between Fukuoka imprint Yesterday Once More and the capital’s Cosmopolyphonic (Chang reps for the latter), but he’s back a few days into 2016 with the glistening strut of “I Can’t Let U Down.” It flows forward via bass snaps and twinkling synth splashes, anchored by a vocal sample that adds the longing to this Blood-Orange-ish track. Yet it isn’t totally clean cut, as at times what sounds like…a rusty spring?…sneak in and add in some welcome tension. Listen above.
