宅録ミュージシャンのトクマルシューゴが、2010年の作品”Port Entropy”に続くシングル、”Decorate”をリリースしました。今までの楽しいおもちゃ箱のような曲以上を望んでいる人にとっては期待はずれかもしれませんね。今回も、遊び心に満ちた曲に仕上がっています。ベル、木管楽器とアコースティックギターが曲の多くを占め、目覚まし時計のような茶目っ気のある音も面白いです。彼のスタイルは全く損なわれていないです。視聴は上から。シングルを購入すれば、トクマルシューゴによる、かつてMTVで大ヒットしたバグルスの、”ラジオ・スターの悲劇”のカバーも聴けます。シングルカットがどうなっているかは知りませんが、ライブバージョンは以下から視聴できます。
Ano(t)racksというレーベルはまだ新しく、あまり多くをリリースしていません。大阪のグループThe Paellaの前作EPのリリースが記憶に新しいのですが、先週、Soon V.A.というインディーポップのコンピレーションをリリースしました。これは注目すべきアップロードでしょう。最近どのようなアーティストがインディーポップシーンで活躍しているのか知る事ができるので、シーンに詳しくない人にとっては、知る良いきっかけになると思います。今年リリースされたMoscow Club周辺のアーティスト達によるコンピ、C86を賞賛するようなリリースですが、大きく異なる点があります。C86ではシンセサイザーを多用するアーティストが多かったものの、Ano(t)racksではそうでもありません。BOYISHの”Couldn’t Remember”はシンセサイザーが使われていますが、他の曲ではドラムマシンくらいです。ギター、ドラムとボーカルのみの編成の、イギリスのバンドに触発されたバンドが多いからなのかもしれませんね。参加している大阪のPost Modern Teamの”In The City”はシンプルかつキャッチーで、The PaellasとTwangy Twangyは自分達の個性をさらに追求しています。 さらに、Ano(t)racksは女性を目立たせているグループが多いと言えるでしょう。京都のHomecomingsの”You Never Kiss”では可愛らしい女性の歌声に鋭いギターを重ねていてとても美しい世界観を演出しています。このコンピのハイライトと言っても過言ではないでしょう。Old Lacy Bedの”Coastlands”はとても楽しく、 大阪のFoodieは愛らしいグルーブでアルバムを締めくくってくれます。ダウンロード、視聴はこちらから。 Soon V.A. by Various Artists

Last week, Tokyo duo She Talks Silence posted a new song called “Walk Away” to their SoundCloud. It’s more like a gallop – after a minimal intro where Minami Yamaguchi sets the scene and makes her intention to “walk away now” clear, STS launches into a fast-paced guitar passage that lasts for the majority of the song’s just-over-three-minute playtime. “I know you’ll hate me,” Yamaguchi sings at one point, and from there “Walk Away” sounds like a dash forward, one that refuses to look back towards whatever it is it wants to avoid.
