New She Talks Silence: “Just Like War”

The outfit behind our favorite album of 2010…and a lot of great music afterwards, too…was quiet for a while, but now they’ve broken their, errrr, silence. She Talks Silence’s “Just Like War” finds them picking up where we last heard from them…it is a song lurking in the shadows, starting off with slightly muffled singing before a guitar and (very very chilly) bass enter in. Along with a skittering drum pattern that quickly runs back. It’s a minimalist set-up, but the duo get all the creepiness out of it as they can..and when they do let the guitars buzzsaw through “Just Like War,” it makes the whole thing all the more disorienting.
